It started on accident…

In 2007 I published this manual on starting  a car detailing business, based on my experience opening a detail shop in 2003.  I was hoping for some local publicity, but the book “caught fire” worldwide, and I’ve sold almost a thousand copies.  The concept was well received because unlike other guides, I offered tangible marketing materials (website, Craigslist ad, flyers, etc.) that new business owners usually spend $100s for.

A new approach to business “startup” guides.

My courses contain:

  • Well-researched information.  My team spends a lot of time finding out all those “industry secrets” that you don’t find spending hours on Google.
  • Advice from real business owners.  What works and what doesn’t…from people who have done the “trial and error.”
  • Professionally-produced marketing materials.  Appearances are CRITICAL to new business owners:  you want to look credible, and we’re giving you that “polished” look for just $29 here.
  • A simple Internet marketing plan.  In 2011, you have to be found on Google.  And you have to have good reviews.  This is my specialty, and my courses have the most current information on ‘net marketing…guaranteed.

3 Notes about writing “The Junk Hauling Blueprint.”

  1. Hauling businesses grow FAST and QUICKLY.  The companies I contacted were constantly buying more trucks, and larger trucks, to keep up with demand.  Their companies grew unusually fast, I think because big companies like 1800-GOT-JUNK have brought awareness to the business. As they add staff, the income scales up quickly.
  2. It isn’t just hauling old couches and broken bicycles.  Remodelers and contractors apparently don’t haul their own messes.  They rely on junk haulers to regularly do their dirty work.
  3. The big name companies are ripe for the picking.  1-800-GOT-JUNK, COLLEGE-HUNKS-HAULING-JUNK, and the other franchised companies are bidding themselves out of the market…particularly on smaller jobs.  A small hauler can pick up a lot of work with his low overhead and prices.
